IFA Team Meets with Minister from Ethiopia to Discuss Rural Health and Neonatal Programs

 

On September 3rd, IFA Executive Director, Dr. Anteneh Roba, and C.O.O., Ms. Seble Nebiyeloul, met with the Ethiopian minister of health, Dr. Tedros Adhenom, along with Dr. Mulualem Gessesse, Head of the Neonatal Services at Yekatiti Hospital, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and the CEO of Yekatit 12 Hospital to discuss the neonatal and rural medicine programs available to Ethiopians. IFA proposed working with U.S. based residency programs to expand the care available to hospitals and clinics in both rural Ethiopia and in the capital city of Addis Ababa. Ms. Nebiyeloul will be donating her time to the Ethiopian medical establishment to further evaluate their electronic medical records program starting with Yekatit 12 Hospital. IFA is very pleased with the outcome of the meeting and look forward to working further with the Ethiopian government on rural medical health projects.   

IFA Team Meets with Minister from Kenya to Discuss IFA Projects

 

IFA with Minister 

IFA Executive Director, Dr. Anteneh Roba and C.O.O., Ms. Seble Nebiyeloul, traveled to Kenya on September 6th where they met with the MP Minister of Medical Health Services of Kenya, the Honorable P. Anyang' Nyongo, EGH. They discussed providing U.S. professionals to work in the rural areas and also proposed programs that go beyond medical care. These programs, such as training in water management, plant-based farming and solar and wind technology, would empower the local people and give them useful skills to continue to support themselves and their families. The Kenyan Ministers was very receptive to the projects and goals of IFA and will support IFA in their endeavors in Kenya.   

IFA Team Discusses Implementing IFA Programs in Tanzania with Deputy Minister from Tanzania

 

Department of Tanzania

IFA Executive Director, Dr. Anteneh Roba and C.O.O., Ms. Seble Nebiyeloul, met with with the Honorable Dr. Lucy S. Nkya (MP) Deputy Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Tanzania to discuss IFA projects in Tanzania on September 8th. IFA and the Deputy Minister discussed sending U.S. Medical professionals to rural parts of Tanzania on medical missions and ways to reduce poverty and empower the local people. The Ministers of Tanzania also promised to assist IFA in getting NGO status as soon as possible. The meeting was a success and the Tanzanian Ministers vowed to assist IFA in implementing these programs in the rural areas of Tanzania and aiding them in their missions to reduce poverty.

 

Houston Pet Talk Magazine Interviews Dr. Anteneh Roba About The Plight of Homeless Dogs in Ethiopia

 

Dr. Anteneh Roba was recently interviewed by Houston Pet Talk, a local magazine based in Houston, Texas. Dr. Roba was interviewed about IFA's work in Ethiopia to help the multitude of homeless dogs that roam the country, especially the streets of the capital, Addis Ababa. In the interview, Dr. Roba discusses many of the programs IFA has forged, including spay/neuter treatments and veterinary education. IFA is very thankful to Houston Pet Talk for this opportunity and continues to forge ahead in helping homeless animals in Ethiopia and worldwide.
