Australian Embassy Awards IFA
the Direct Aid Program Grant

We are excited to announce that the Australian Embassy has chosen to award IFA a very generous grant through their Direct Aid Program (DAP). The funds will go directly to IFA's School Health and Nutrition Program, which has been providing nutritional school lunches to children who arrive to school hungry and with no food to sustain them throughout the day. The money will be used to further fund the present program, and will help us to expand these efforts to reach additional schoolchildren. This pivotal support will go a long way toward making our successful program sustainable so that additional children can receive the aid they need to flourish in Ethiopian schools.

A Special Thank You to Anne Stewart and the IFA Team

In the past year, IFA's projects on behalf of poor and undernourished school children have benefited tremendously from the experience and diligence of Anne Stewart and the IFA team.

The IFA team has worked tirelessly to secure grants for the School Health and Nutrition Program, and their efforts have resulted in numerous awards that have allowed us to provide continuous support to over 150 children in need. We thank Anne, our dedicated volunteer, and the whole IFA team for working so hard to secure this funding and propel our efforts forward to help even more children in the months and years to come.

Anteneh Roba's Chapter on "Injustice Anywhere"
Featured on Radio

This past month, Anteneh Roba's recent chapter on "Injustice Anywhere" from the book Circles of Compassion was featured twice on radio shows. One of the programs invited Dr. Roba to speak about his experiences visiting the slave trade post in Ghana--a powerful institution that serves as a reminder of the suffering of human beings over centuries of colonialism, slavery, and oppression. This experience led Dr. Roba to write a chapter that focuses his experiences around Martin Luther King Jr.'s warning that "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Pointing to the current suffering of animals due to the spread of factory farming and lack of proper care, Dr. Roba describes the deterioration of the symbiotic relationship between animals and humans, and warns that this version of injustice is just as virulent and destructive as any other that has existed throughout our history.
