Humanitarian Aid
Over the past three years year, IFA has responded to the national call to assist displaced persons and used all opportunities and venues to garner support. Therefore, when the request to prioritize the very young among the people displaced came to the attention of IFA, IFA partnered with Vegan Compassion Trust and other private donors to distribute ready to eat flour mix called FAMIX to under 5-year-old children. FAMIX contains energy and protein. It is a mix prepared and packed in Addis Abeba and transported to camps and shelters .
Historically and currently, IFA works in close collaboration with North Shewa Zone of Amhara region. In the past medical missions and health related capacity building projects were implemented in the region therefore distribution is facilitated by working closely with the host community.
The assistance provided , in addition to ready to eat flour includes sacks of macaroni, soap and clothes , mattresses and blankets. These items contribute to meeting the basic needs of IDPs and help them rebuild their lives, while also promoting long-term stability and resilience.
